Farmington's Ladies finally registered their first win at local rivals Monifieth on Sunday.
Forfar took the lead ion the thirteenth minute when Katie Hassett played in Chelsea Watson who drew the home keeper before slotting into the far corner for her second goal in two matches since her transfer from Dundee City. That the scoreline stayed at 0-1 at the break was down to some good goalkeeping by the Monifieth custodian and the long grass which kept holding Watson and Casey Martin up after they had beaten the last defender. Forfar keeper Charlotte Tasker made an excellent stop from the home sides only first half chance.
The second half saw more of the same as Hassett, Suzy Brough, Gemma Mulholland and Lisa Hoggan dominated the midfield. Six minutes into the half, Forfar doubled their lead when Lori Allan found Hoggan on the right and her ball inside to Hassett was expertly controlled and fed to Watson. She then played in Martin coming in from the left who tucked the ball home with her right foot. With twenty-five minutes to go, Monifieth's Claire Thoms latched onto a loose ball and sped clear only to be brought down inside the box by Tasker. Perhaps a little fortunate, Tasker was shown just a yellow card and compounded the home side's misery by saving Fiona Mearns' spot kick. Forfar continued to create -and miss chances until ten minutes from time when Ellice Brannan took a free kick from inside her own half and set Hassett clear. Her first effort was saved but she reacted quickest and stabbed home the rebound to deservedly round off a magnificent personal display.
All sixteen players on duty played their part to the full and the U17's drafted in certainly did not look out of place in the women's senior game.
