A disappointing day at Marketmuir for The Reserves as they went down to a competent Buchan side.

After going ahead through a Cheryl Rigden long range effort and competing well against the Northerners they failed to hang on to the lead conceding the equalizer on the stroke of half-time. Starting brightly after the break Emily Phillips crashed an effort off the bar and Leonie Simpson then went one on one with the Buchan keeper only to be denied by a fine stop. Eiledh Reid then went close but a last gasp tackle prevented her scoring what would have been a great goal.

As is often the case though a period of pressure is ended by the opposition launching a ball up field and hesitancy in the Forfar defense led to the visitors going ahead. There was still time to carve out a couple of chances but as the game progressed the experienced Buchan side saw out the game adding to their tally with a late effort. Best on the day for the Angus side were Doyle, Rigden, McDonald and Phillips with Reid again showing great potential talent for the future.

Team: Soutar, Gallacher, Phillips, Doyle Percy, McDonald (Coyle),Gallagher, Rigden, Reid, Kilcoyne (Young), Simpson (R. Smith)
