The SWPL side will have to overcome current League Champions Glasgow City if they are to make it to their first top tier national final following today’s League Cup Semi Final draw.
The advantage of a home draw is negated by the fact that both fixtures will take place on neutral venues, the exact location of which will be confirmed in the next few days. City already hold bragging rights over Farmington for the season to date, coming out 6-0 victors at Strathmore Park in the SWPL’s opening fixture, but for Head Coach Mark Nisbet it’s just another day at the office. “As with any cup competition when you reach the final four, there are no easy draws! Perhaps we would have liked to avoid City at this stage, but first most and foremost we are delighted to be involved in our first top tier semi final as a team.” “There is no doubt that there will be a bit of excitement going into the game, but we will be keeping our feet firmly on the ground and, as always, making sure we prepare well for the fixture” The match will take place on either Wednesday 2nd or Thurday 3rd of May, with the exact night dependent on confirmation of the game venues – expected in the next few days.
