Blue was the Colour on Saturday, as both the U-13 Blues and U-11 Blue United notched fine victories The Blues recorded a convincing victory over Montrose Youth as Jane Luckhurst and Ed Thomson’s side continue their goal scoring exploits. For Lee Hutcheon’s U-11 Blue United, a friendly 4-3 victory was secured against Celtic Tayside. Forfar began well and quickly took the lead when little powerhouse Skye Hutcheon fired home a cracker on the turn following Katie White’s well-delivered corner. Five minutes later White struck the post after exchanging passes with Megan Ferguson. The home side doubled their advantage through terrier-like Taylor Clifford. Stylish play from Anne Murrie sent White away and when her cross was not properly cleared, Clifford rifled the ball home. Another White corner just before the break was met by her namesake Jordan with a fine right foot finish to make it 3-0 to Forfar at half time. Forfar found the second half a bit tougher-especially with no substitutes and Celtic pulled a goal back. Celtic notched another to make it 3-2, but Katie White finished them off when she received the ball from Hutcheon just outside her own penalty box and ran the length of the field before coolly slotting it past the Celtic keeper. With a minute to go the visitors made it 4-3 but Forfar fully deserved their win, playing some stylish football in the process with Skye Hutcheon just edging the player of the match award.
