The SWPL side were held to a draw by a hard working Aberdeen side at Aberdeen Sports Village this afternoon. Cat Fitzsimmons made her debut replacing Dana Soutar, whilst Julia Scott and Alana Bruce returned to the starting line up in place of Nicky Grant and Caren Webster. Both sides traded corners in the opening minutes, Farmington’s effort being knocked over the bar by Fay Hughes. In the 11th minute a Julia Scott corner was nodded past the post by Caroline Heron who may have been disappointed not to find the target. The visitors were struggling to carve out any gilt edged chances, with Aberdeen contesting each ball stoutly. In the 20th minute Scott blazed over from distance as Farmington looked to threaten the Aberdeen goal, however it would be the home side who found an opening. With offside appeals ringing in her ears, Clare Martin broke clear of the Farmington backline but was denied by a terrific 1 v 1 save from Cat Fitzsimmons. Two minutes later Heron also tried her luck from distance but also failed to find the target. A Scott shot from distance would be the only other real chance as the first half drew to a close.

The second half kicked off in a similar vain to the first, with both sides trading blows whilst Aberdeen continued to look most likely to win any loose balls. It was a local player who would open the scoring, but she wore the blue of Forfar. Rachael Small drove in with the ball from the left flank, and having held off the attentions of several players, deftly curled the ball past Sangster. The introduction of substitutes Sam Milne and Lucy Graham catalysed an increase in the aggression show by the visitors; however this failed to translate into any further goals. Aberdeen drew level in the 68th minute when a Dons player ghosted in to head home. This ended the days scoring, although Small did sting the palms of Sangster shortly before the referee blew for full time.
