Celtic Tayside ran out worthy winners and deservedly won this match where they had the majority of possession and created most of the chances. Despite hitting the bar several times and scoring first, Forfar seemed slower to respond and were often on the back foot.

The visitors started well and put Farmington under pressure early on, with the home side findint it difficult to make any headway. Bethany Moir made several fine covering tackles and Sherie Stewart in goal was called on to make several saves. Despite this Forfar scored first, after 10 minutes through Leila Strachan with a well struck shot. Celtic Tayside were quick to respond however when Rachel Smith hit a quick equaliser from close range after Forfar lost possession in defence. Celtic scored again just before half time with a well taken goal.

Forfar produced a better display in the second half and started to come into the game a bit more. Lois Miller was tenacious in midfield but were finding it difficult to maintain a sustained pressure and keep possession. Celtic on the other hand were organised and were quick to break on several occasions. They maintained their shape well, and scored another two well taken goals in the second half. Despite Farmington’s best efforts, it was to be Celtic Tayside’s day.
